Wholesome Foodservice is a family run business, which was established, at Halcombe Farm in the early 1960's. The two brothers Graham and Colin Appleton set up an egg production unit at the farm and initially supplied local shops and restaurants.
Colin with his knowledge of agricultural matters managed the farm and livestock while Graham was on the road selling. Today 40 odd years later and now into the second generation of Appletons we have expanded to supply a vast range of foods for your every need, covering an area which encompasses Sussex, Surrey, Kent and South London. An enthusiastic team with extensive food and catering experience now runs Wholesome Foods, and we have at last overcome the image of being just "The Eggman".
Our range of products has expanded to cater for traditional cuisine and the ever-growing fast food market. From humble beginnings we are now serving a wide range of customers. These include schools, hotels, guesthouses, delis, sandwich bars, bistros, cafes, garages, shops, leisure centres, golf courses and other wholesalers. We specialise in dairy products and stock over 100 different cheeses both English and Continental. These are sourced mainly direct from producers. We also stock an extensive range of cooked meats, sausages and bacon, tinned vegetables and fruit, boulangerie and potato chips, canned and bottled drinks, and our extensive range of cakes, to name a few.
Wholesome Foods success in recent years has been built around our wish to supply our customers a high quality product at the lowest possible price. We also set our self apart from our competitors in that we never impose minimum deliveries, and offer next day delivery in most cases. We are also flexible in that if you have forgotten to order something, have a special request or just need a delivery on an alternative day, our sales team will do their best to help you. We are here to help and give you the best service in the business.
